1.6 million tons of war munitions were dumped off the German coast after the World Wars – there they have lain untouched and rotting ever since. More and more toxic explosives are leaking from the bombs, mines, and grenades, increasingly poisoning the oceans. After many decades, the German government is finally taking action. The problem is gigantic.
